Our field trip on Thursday was awesome! Thank you to all of the chaperones and the students, your help was excellent! We saw some wonderful things. We went on Air Force One. We met Abraham Lincoln and got to see the White House! Wow!
October
The end of the month was truly awesome! We got some good hard work done in the classroom. We also had the chance to take a boat ride down the river, and see some historic sights and the beautiful fall colors. On Friday we went to package food for Feed My Starving Children.
Your children expressed gratitude for the chance to take our trip down the river. But they told me that helping to feed the starving children in the world was more fun and more satisfying for them! Parise God for your children! Wow!
It was all topped off by a excellent concert at the University! Your children sang beautifully!! I loved it and I hope you did too!
November
We have been reading like crazy!!!!!!!! Our reading turkey has a huge tail! We have also held our first writing contest and have had some wonderful stories as a result! Looking back on the month of November gives me a lot to be thankful for. Thank you for sending your children to this school! Thank you for supporting me during this school year!
Your children are a blessing to everyone here. Thank you.
December
This year's Third Grade class really stepped up to the reading challenge!!! They were finally able to beat the class that is now in sixth grade. When the sixth graders were in third grade, they read for 9,820 minutes. This year's clas read for 10,020 minutes! Wow! The turkey tail turned the corner, covered my teacher books and started to cover the coat closet. To celebrate, the sixth graders came down and did reader's theater for us and we read a poem to them. Everyone had treats and we celebrated this accomplishment together!!
Christmas
We had a great time at the Christmas party. We decorated the tree and sang songs the day before. On the last day of school before break we worked on making our Nativity books, and other Christmas projects! We then relaxed and watched a movie before heading off to a much deserved break. If feels good to be back at school. I am excited about getting back to work, and really making some strides! I can tell that the students are too! Once again, thank you for sharing your children with us!!!
January
Our poetry recital was so much fun!! I was so proud of the students. They did such an excellent job. I really enjoyed hearing both original and published poems. Wow! I was so impressed by the work that they did getting ready and by their performance that day. I hope that everyone enjoyed it as much as I did. Thank you to the parents who were able to attend and a special thank you to the parents who helped serve refreshments. This will certainly become a third grade tradition!
