Central Lutheran School
 Early Childhood

Be content with the things that ye have for I have said, I will never leave thee or forsake thee.  Hebrews 13:5

I love CLS because it offers a partnership between home, school and church.  A growing partnership, where one day you may be the student, one day the parent, and one day a part of the faculty & staff.  We’re still growing, and there’s room for more.  I encourage you to come grow with us!

Education

     A.A. in Early Childhood Education, Concordia St. Paul, MN – 1978

     Additional credits from University of MN and Inver Hills Community College

     Early Childhood Director’s Certificate, Development Corporation for Children – 2000

Experience

     Central Lutheran School, St. Paul, MN – 15 years;

     Children’s World Learning Centers, MN – 16 years;

     Camp Fire Girls & Boys Organization, MN – 1 year;

     I grew up in the heart of St. Paul, a true mixture of public, private and parochial schools. I was amongst the first to be enrolled in a childcare setting within my community.   Wilder Early Childhood Center and a wonderful woman named Del Madigo were the complimentary foundation to my loving, working parents.

     I have first hand knowledge of many of the public schools within our community:  Webster, J.J. Hill, and Linwood Elementary all played a part in who I am.  Central Lutheran School not only provided instruction in the basics, but also reaffirmed  ‘whose I am!’ – A child of our loving Heavenly Father, created to bring Him glory and honor.

I thoroughly enjoyed my high school education at Concordia Academy, Roseville, MN.

Graduating in 1976, I heard God’s voice calling me to the field of early childhood education.  Concordia (college), St. Paul, prepared me to take the instruction, love, forgiveness and grace that had been lavished on me, to a world of young children in need.

     I spent a year working with school-age children for the St. Paul Camp Fire Organization.  What a joy to be working with children in the outdoor environment.

     When a teaching position became available in the Children’s World Learning Centers, my heart burst with joy.  I spent sixteen years with those precious little ones, in four different locations: West St Paul, St. Paul, Maplewood and Roseville, MN.  It was difficult to leave the family I had come to know and love within that organization.

     In 1995 I was called to be the early childhood director here at CLS.  It has been my privilege to serve alongside such a competent and dedicated staff.  I am honored to direct a program that continues to grow in knowledge, truth and grace.  I watch your children as they grow into young people, eager themselves to begin preparing for a lifetime ahead of them.  I pause praising God, Father, Son & Holy Spirit, as the partnership goes on growing.

Serving in a Christian school offers me a chance to invite everyone to ‘come home’.  Education at it’s fullest and care in the most tender, loving arms outside your home.  Come be a part of our school community; more importantly, come home – be a part of the family of God.  Daily we are blessed in big and small ways.  Live in His light, His power and His saving grace.  What a friend we have in Jesus!  What a privilege to share Him with the children, families and staff in our homes, communities and here at CLS!

I Love CLS because…

     Do you know what it’s like to come home again?  It’s an incredible blessing!  I am so grateful to have experienced CLS from many different perspectives.   Attending CLS in the early ‘70’s, I experienced first hand the difference a Christian school environment can make in a child’s life, as well as her home life.  Wrapped in God’s Word, sound instruction, love, discipline and encouragement, God was forming me for a future service of education and care.  The partnership grows.

     All three of my sons attended CLS at some point in their elementary education.  They were individuals with three very different styles of learning, interests and personalities.  Yet each of them received a quality education, grounded in God’s Word and saving grace.  An added blessing was the relationships formed are those of life long friends that include parents, students and staff. The partnership grows.

     Serving on the faculty and staff of Central Lutheran School has allowed me to be an active participant in the high quality of Christian education and care that the ministry of CLS provides.    Day after day I am privileged to serve alongside our dedicated and caring early childhood staff.  Day after day I am honored to work with parents and families who love their children and want what is best for them.  The partnership grows.

I love CLS because it offers a partnership between home, school and church.  A growing partnership, where one day you may be the student, one day the parent, and one day a part of the faculty & staff.  We’re still growing, and there’s room for more.  I encourage you to come grow with us!
