Get to Know Our All Day Kindergarten
- School Day: 9:05AM - 3:35PM
- Class size: Maximum 25 children
- One teacher
- Lunch/Snacks: Morning snack, lunch, and an afternoon snack. Snacks provided by the school.
- Bus: Busing is available - Free busing in St. Paul, west of 35E
- Rest Time: A quiet time is provided for about 15 minutes in the afternoon. The children typically do not sleep.
Kindergarten at Central Lutheran School is a Christ-centered place where children have fun and learn through activities geared for their success. Each day is filled with learning experiences that will excite and motivate your child.

The math program involves two daily lessons, Math Meeting and Math Lesson, from the Saxon Math program.

- Making Comparisons
- Counting
- Numeral Recognition
- Patterning
•Math Lesson
- Measurement using non standard

correspondence

Jesus Time
The Faith Alive Religion Curriculum from
Concordia Publishing House is used for Jesus Time.
Through Bible Stories and devotions the children will:
– Know God and His Son Jesus Christ,
– Know that sins are forgiven,
– Know that they are God’s children and He loves all,
– Live happily in peace with God, self, and others,
– Know that because of Jesus Christ we have eternal
life.
Awareness/ Science & Social Studies
The children are provided with experiences in the following

Underwater Life Colors
Self and Others Weather Families
Animal Habitats Fire Safety
Animal Growth & Development
Physical Education
Phy-Ed is taught three times per week.
· Physical Fitness

Why All Day Kindergarten
To give children an exciting opportunity to take extra time to explore the above subject areas

Reading is taught by phonics and reading aloud to children.
· Phonics is the presentation of letters and sounds
This is accomplished through:
Letter and sound recognition and writing the letter
Homework - about 10-15 minutes per week
Rhymes and songs
Blending letter sounds to form words
Integrating letters and sounds into daily life
Open-ended activities
Name Tickets - practice writing first, middle and
last name
