Dear Parents,
Here are the spelling words for this week. We will have a test on Friday, February 3rd.
call eat fish say red one Wednesday Your child’s first and last name
We will be having our penguin celebration on Friday. I would like to have a snack in the afternoon. If you would like to contribute something I have a snack that requires Oreos, candy corn, and a Hershey kiss. If you could help to donate these things and perhaps juice pouches to our party please have them to school by Wednesday. We have been reading Mr. Popper’s Penguins in class. The movie is rated PG and I am do not think it is appropriate for our classroom. I was thinking perhaps March of the Penguins or maybe Happy Feet. I do not own either of these movies. If any of you own either of these could you please get in touch with me as soon as possible?
Just a reminder next week we will be testing during the week. Please help your child to get to bed at a reasonable time and also try to have breakfast in the morning. The testing will be read to the students but it will be very important for them to follow directions and not go ahead.
Starting next week we will be having daily reports going home. There will a weekly report sheet, which will have a report on behavior and work habits for each day that week. It will be a simple smiley face report for behavior and work habits. It will give you a sense of how the day has gone for your child. The report will need to be initialed by you every night. There is a place for comments; they can come from myself or from you. I will stamp it to let you know that I have seen it the next day. Please look for it.
Friday I will be test on the 7th Commandment, which is You shall not steal.
Thank you for your support,
Denise DeSart-Strasser
