November Test/Meeting #1:

We had 100% participation this week!  What a great way to start Math Olympiad!  We started the meeting with our tests and everyone tried their hardest.  We want to emphasize the importance of not getting discouraged by the scores on the first test.  This was our first attempt at completing a test and many people struggled to understand the questions, but once we went over them together as a group, we heard many people say “Oh, now I get it!” and “I can’t believe I missed that question!”  Each week, you can see your test scores by clicking on the “Math Olympiad” tab at the top of this page.  From there, you can click your way through to the score sheet that shows your score, which is listed by the number that was assigned to you today.

We sent home a practice sheet that is due on Wednesday, November 25, 2009.  Remember, you get 2 points just for simply trying your best on this worksheet.  Each sheet counts for a total of 7 points:  1 point for each of the 5 questions and 2 participation points.  Don’t be afraid to work together with your group members to find the answers to the questions on the practice work sheets.

Thank you for your participation and we hope you have fun as we go along!
