For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29: 11-13
The LORD your God is with you,
he is mighty to save.
He will take great delight in you,
he will quiet you with his love,
he will rejoice over you with singing." Zephaniah 3:17
I love CLS because: CLS has an enduring tradition of being a strong, close-knit community in Christ.

if you're having trouble viewing the video, look for a message at the top of your screen prompting you to run an "ActiveX" plugin. Music is included in the curriculum at CLS because:
1. Music making is commanded by God. (See Psalms 146-150)
2. Musical ability is distributed among the population the way other abilities are distributed (2/3 have average ability, 1/6 have above average ability, 1/6 have below average ability)
3. Our culture markets music as a product designed to make money and to appeal to the CURTURAL (Not CHRIST-LIKE) standards of the day. In agreement with the mission statement of Central Lutheran School, the Music Program seeks to equip our students to celebrate God’s goodness and grace with appropriate music and to exercise Godly consumerism and evaluation of what the world currently offers in music.

WELCOME BACK CLS ALUMNI CHOIR
Central Lutheran School is pleased to announce the 4th Season of the CLS Alumni Choir. This ensemble is open to any CLS alum who enjoys singing a variety of choral literature AND keeping up with all the latest happenings at CLS. You will even have time to discuss current events with your old school buds.
Rehearsals are about 2 Sunday afternoons per month and about 2 Thursday evenings per month. If there are two rehearsals in a week, the idea is to attend ONE. The first Alumni Choir Performance will be on December 17 at the CLS Christmas Pageant at Jehovah Lutheran Church.
There is still time to be in Alumni choir. Contact Mrs. Wegner if interested.
Contact Mrs. Wegner at ewegner@clssp.org for membership. Watch your mail at home and this webpage for news and updates.

Instruments Offered – Grades 4-8
Flute, Clarinet, Trumpet, Percussion, Alto Saxophone, and Trombone
Fee Schedule
An annual registration fee of $35 covers the cost of all books and materials that your child will need. This fee must accompany the registration form you receive from the director or school.
Fifteen private lessons are available for $195 per semester ($13.00 per lesson) or pay $351 for the entire year (30 weeks) – a 10% discount. You may use Discover, Visa, or MasterCard for lesson payments.
Instruments
As a service to our students, instruments can be purchased, leased or rented from Cadenza Music at 149 Snelling Avenue in St. Paul, 651-644-3611. Students must have an instrument by the second lesson. If you already own an instrument, please have it inspected by a technician to ensure that it is in good working condition.
Education Tax Credit
Some parents have asked about receiving a tax credit for the music lessons. You can get forms on-line through www.taxex.state.mn.us at the Minnesota Department of Revenue. This allows you to see if you are eligible for credit toward your taxes. For example in 2005, household income needed to be less than $37,500 for you to qualify. Scroll through the forms for M1ED for the K-12 Education Credit form. Two other forms with more detailed information are the K-12 Education Subtraction and Credit form and/or the Qualifying Home School Expenses for K-12 Education Subtraction and Credit form. If you need more help, please call the Income Tax question line at 651-296-3781.
