As a growing school, Central Lutheran School (CLS) is highly dependent upon family participation and support in all facets of the school. In order to enhance the CLS educational experience as well as to help offset the growing cost of quality Christian education we ask that each family commit to serve the school in a volunteer capacity every school year. Serving in a volunteer capacity at CLS impacts your child’s spiritual, educational, and social growth. We all know how gifted the children of CLS are, but we also know that the families of our students have much to offer to our school community.
Volunteer Opportunities
For the 2007-2008 school year, the focust of the Cougar Volunteer Program (CVP) has shifted to the following 4 areas: lunchroom support, maintenance, office support and Xcel Energy Center Volunteer Hours. These areas will get the highest priority from the administration and the hours will count hour for hour. All other support activities listed below will be approved only on a case by case basis. In addition, these volunteer opportunities my only count up to 1/2 hour for each hour that is served. These opportunities include:
- Library Assistant
- Classroom Support
- Tutoring
- Concession Stand
- PT&FA Events
- School Leadership (PT&FA, Board, Committees)
- Certain Fundraising Activities
- Classroom Field Trip Coordinator
- Mini-course Presentor
- Represent CLS at certain parades
